I'm deciding my AS options, and I may be taking music, which I didn;t take for gcse, but what's it like?

Apparently I don't need to have done GCSE, I have grade 6 cello and theory and everything, but I don't want to take it and then find it really hard? Just some views on people who have taken it or teachers or something please?
