Sinusitis in 18 month old....are there any remedies for swelling?

So I posted last night and then took him to a walk in clinic today. Found out he has a sinus infection and all of his sinuses are plugged up. The doctor gave me amoxicillian and told me to use the childrens cold medicine. But he never said anything about getting the drainage to minimize or the swelling anybody got any ideas? I found out you can use warm tea and salt water but it helps for a little bit but does not help for long periods of time can anyone give me a suggestion? I want to send him to daycare but I dont want the swelling to be so bad that they send him home.
